Love is a...Dangerous Game
Despite its generic title, “Love Is a … Dangerous Game” is one of those extremely rare, intelligent adult features that rewards viewers for wanting something more than a gaping anus in their entertainment. Directed by Eddie Powell from a script by Jacky St. James, the story follows children’s book author Paulina Connelly’s (Natasha Nice) unexpected, and potentially dangerous, romance with mysterious horror novelist — and former madhouse resident — Wes Mueller (Richie).
Technically, the film is beautifully shot — on par with any mainstream thriller. But, what makes it especially engaging, along with St. James’ deft script, is Powell’s ability to create and juggle romance, humor, and suspense — something not easily pulled off in most adult features. It also helps that the film’s leads are charismatic and talented.
Natasha Nice, the petite and pretty, top-heavy star of many gonzo productions, proves that she’s leading lady material with a performance that is subtle and natural and funny. But, it’s Richie who gets to chew up the scenery with his silent, but manic, portrayal of Wes Mueller. A brilliant and fun surprise, “Love Is a … Dangerous Game” is what all adult features should be.

Quentin Tarantino’s World War II drama Inglourious Basterds is the inspiration behind European director Max Candy’s new pseudo-historical stroker Inglorious Bitches. Budgeted at over $300,000, the Marc Dorcel production stars Tarra White and Anna Polina as vengeance seeking Nazi Germany dissenters who wrangle up an army of whores to carry out an assassination plot against top military officials.
White, channeling Brad Pitt’s Aldo Raine, rallies her scantily-clad, top-heavy troops with harsh truths and the promise of a better life. “Before this war, you were nothing but street whores, useless bitches,” she barks. “Sooner or later, you’d be found dead and gutted on the very streets that you worked. We brought you here to give you the opportunity of your life.”
Of course, White knows that the mission is suicide. The entire plan hinges on the girls keeping the Nazi officers distracted during a massive orgy, while White’s hired pilot drops a bomb on their headquarters. But, White and Polina are determined to sacrifice both their lives and that of their crew to avenge the death of an old lover and caregiver, who was murdered just minutes after their threesome by Nazi scum.
Inglorious Bitches has a lot going for it: exotic sets and locations (bunkers, cottages, mansions), mind-blowing props (tank, jeeps, guns, a flame-thrower), authentic wardrobe and makeup, and, of course, beautiful women and hardcore sex. But what makes the film especially enjoyable is that, unlike most American porn parodies, it’s not a mindless, pornified scene-for-scene take of its source material. There’s a lot of creativity and humor in Inglorious Bitches—possibly enough to justify keeping it next to your copy of Inglourious Basterds and not in the closet, hidden underneath your gym shorts. —Nelson X, XBIZ Review

"Some pretty slick production here from New Sensations in their Sappho Series. Riding on the success that Girlfriends Films and Sweetheart Video have experienced with their all-girl titles, some major studios are finally picking up on the quality, especially in the genuine passion that they show. ...
Brilliant music throughout, too, though the end credit music is rather hard to listen to. ... And if that's the most I can find to complain about with The Intern? All-girl fans, you should be lining up to buy this one. Hopefully it's a continuing trend for many of these great all-girl stars for them to get the recognition they deserve. —Oranje, Adult DVD Empire

For those who appreciate their porn served with a hefty dose of thought, Tabitha Stevens and director Gary Orona serve up “Sanatorium,” a polemic that tackles a wide range of ills facing today’s porn stars. It’s a surreal vision quest filled with sex, politicians, sex, trolls, sex, dead people, sex, sleazy lawyers, sex, priests, and so much more. Beautifully shot, the story follows a wild walkabout that Tabitha takes through her desert landscape of her mind as she tries to protect her psyche from a society that has violated her mind in every way possible.
The film is woven around the framing device of Tabitha, a prostitute, and Nick Manning in a hotel room. Recent history has proven that the loudest defenders of morality are among the biggest perverts, and Nick plays a conservative politician of that ilk, an anti-porn crusader who fucks prostitutes on the sly. Tabitha’s vision quest is told as a story to Nick, each scene a representation of something that Tabitha must overcome as she fights to regain her sanity.
The movie does a good job of delivering a message without being overly preachy, keeping the dialogue slim and to the point before moving on to that which the movie celebrates - the freedom of a beautiful woman who enjoys her sexuality. —Scott Ross, XBIZ Editors Choice

Body Heat may be the best filmed porno movie in existence. There isn't a single frame that looks like a film-school dropout took on this project. Every frame, every scene, every take is impeccable. From the opening shot to the tragic bomb-detonation sequence, everything is crystal clear golden perfection.
Body is a little more female friendly then most adult DVDs, featureing some very hot men!

Malice in Lalaland
Welcome back Miss Lucifer. In a fantastic sophomore effort from the Belgium-based studio, Sasha Grey stars in a wildly imaginative and distinctly original interpretation of the “Alice in Wonderland” fable. Grey is unstoppable as the title character Malice. You just can’t take your eyes off her as she weaves her way through a sexy dream world that is well-conceived and expertly captured by director Lew Xypher.
Surreal storytelling, exceptional art direction and flawless cinematography meet ball-draining sex in this surefire contender for Feature Movie of the Year. The movie provides an instant classic sex scene between Grey and the rising Asian star Styles who plays Chester. It’s the stylish setup that lifts the encounter, not to mention Grey’s hotness in her flirty blue dress. Chester gives the wandering Malice a lift in his classic car, cruises to a desolate motel and drills her with a two-pop finish, but not before an impromptu Polaroid photo shoot.
Xypher didn’t skimp on the sex scenes as they come early and often, including the opening, fetish-inspired four-way featuring Andy San Dimas, Chayse Evans, Danny Mountain and Chris Johnson that goes off at a frenetic pace. Styles’ is excellent both performing and acting as Chester. Wearing a large cathead, he works over Sadie West and Juelz Ventura later in the show in what will be remembered as one of the best movies of 2010. —Editor's Choice, XBIZ

An Open Invitation: A Real Swingers Party
Kudos to both Private Media Group and fetish online community Kink.com for producing a unique adult film that bridges reality with tried and true porn performances. “Open Invitation” is the second release in Private’s “Independent” line and focuses on a couple’s exploration into the world of swinging.
What makes this special is aside from some major porn players like India Summer, Lorelei Lee and James Deen, the cast includes a total of 15 porn stars and 127 real-life swingers. This is Rothman’s inaugural directorial gig and she delivers a stylish and hot script-driven feature ($100K budget) with plenty of sex both from the performers and amateurs who are willing to fuck on camera.
The inclusion of “real” swingers gives this production an added boost. The central characters find themselves in the middle of a sex party (shot at Kink’s Upper Floor” studio at the company’s San Francisco Armory headquarters) but once some lesbian kissing kicks in (with wife India Summer) the husband (Deen) gets so hot he starts fucking another woman. Both couples then fuck to a frenzied climax. As the story progresses, more steamy girl/girl action and swinging couples get it on for the cameras that will keep you glued to your screen. It’s watching people watching other people fuck — for real — that is so compelling. —by Nick Roberts, XBIZ June 2010
The eye-candy in The Smiths is absolutely astonishing. There are many memorable moments of the girls in non-hardcore action which are worthy of an Andrew Blake production: the opening close-up of Kortney Kane's ass wrapped up in an skimpy black dress, followed up later by the far shots of her endlessly long legs strutting in heels as she enters a bathroom stall, were images which struck me like a bolt of lightning generating 1.21 gigawatts of electricity. Equally easy on the eyes were the covergirl close-ups of Kayden's gorgeous face when she first appears in the picture, as well as the medium shots of Riley Steele dressed up in red lingerie.
For a sequence which will really grab your attention, skip over to the fifty-four minute mark, for a montage of strobing images backed up by a pulsating score as Kayden prepares for her affair with Tommy Gunn. It's a strikingly creative visual moment, and climactically reveals a hidden secret kept by Miss Kross. I've always been impressed with the film-like texture of Mr. D's pictures, and The Smiths maintains the same standards in video and audio quality. To describe it is one thing, but to experience it on a widescreen monitor is another.
My only complaint about this production? I wish it were longer. It's ninety-minute running time is perfect for the tightly edited vignettes and expository sequences, but I wanted to see more of Kayden, Riley and Kortney, with or without clothes. The girls look that good.

In the year 2040, sex droid performers mix with a handful of human porn stars that remain in a business that is run by a few mega companies worth billions. Duncan Caldwell (Armstrong) is the ruthless CEO of Real Doll Industries, the leading supplier of “sex anibots” who is poised for porn world domination. But feisty entrepreneur Morris Lanning (Marcus London) stands in his way. The former RDI employee, who was fired for creative differences with Caldwell, has unveiled a prototype anibot named Mira (Alektra Blue). This leggy and beautiful fuck machine is so human-like that it could take over the market. “The most perfect creature I’ve ever created,” Lanning says. The trouble is Caldwell believes Lanning committed corporate espionage by building the super droid and he wants his property back. Violence ensues and so does romance.
Beautifully captured with a smart script from Armstrong, this is a triumph for Wicked’s production team. Droid sex has never looked so good. —Dan Miller, AVN Magazine
The first release in two years from E.A.'s premium Prime Evil label's first release is an Asian-oriented feature written and directed by four-time AVN Award winner David Aaron Clark. PURE is a unique, visually stunning dark romance based on the same famous real-life Japanese sex scandal as the controversial 1976 international classic In the Realm of the Senses.
Featured in the leads of this S/M drama are Japanese-American beauty Asa Akira and brash new British/Thai actor Keni Styles as the star-crossed lovers, Sada and Kichi. Sophisticated, fetish-driven hardcore turns by Jessica Bangkok, Lana Violet and luscious Chinese submissive Destiny help propel both the plot and the edgy, kink-filled sex scenes. Also featured in a rare turn in front of the camera is Evil Angel director and legendary pervert Jake Malone.
"Clark has put together a fantastically rich production here—one of the best of the year. Yes, it's dark and foreboding, but that's what makes it work. Excellent videography, an intriguing score, intelligent script and home run performances from Akira and Styles makes Pure this reviewer's favorite feature of the year" —Buzz Killington, XBIZ Editors Choice
For "Flight Attendants," director Will Ryder has temporarily left the cozy confines of the porn parody genre that's made him one of adult's most successful directors for an original scripted comedy. The result is a hilarious—if at times a bit cluttered—adult comedy with a great cast.
Extra credit never felt so good! Textbooks, homework, DETENTION (yeah!), lube, dildos ... another typical day at Filmore Bush Academy, where Sex-Ed is a hands-on class.
Welcome to Filmore Bush High, where Jesse Jane, Angelina Armani, Riley Steele and Stoya are keeping a communal diary of their sexual conquests. The book falls into the hands of administrator Lisa Ann, and the flashbacks begin. Reading about Jesse Jane's set-to with coach Tommy Gunn turns Lisa Ann on so much that she jumps onto passing student Scott Nals.
Monique Alexander says she's been brutally violated, gagged and left for dead in a cold stone basement. Or was she? By wild luck, her ex-boyfriend hears her muffled cries and rescues her. Or does he? How did he know she was down there...naked, bleeding and violated? As this darkly sexual tale unfolds we are led to wonder...was she even hurt at all? If so, who is the culprit? The only thing we really know is that payback's a bitch. Literally. Cry Wolf is destined to become a classic in the Paul Thomas tradition of AVN Best Picture Classics.
"Cry Wolf is so good, I can't imagine it not being remembered at the end of the year when the AVN Award and other major industry kudos are announced. Make no mistake, this is one of the best features we've seen from the industry so far in 2008. Be sure to check it out!" —Spooky, Adult DVD Empire
Zazel: The Scent of Love
A breakthrough film in several ways, Zazel focuses almost as much on sensual imagery as it does on sexual heat. The film is ostensibly about the search for the perfect perfume; Zazel (Vinni) a world-famous artist is assigned to create the most arousing scent ever. Her creative mind enters its deepest and most erotic fantasies, participating in encounters ranging from angelic to the demonic in settings whose beauty rivals that of the performers, including several Penthouse Pets. No feeling too deep. No scent too strong. No limit to any experience will keep Zazel from victory in her creative quest for the perfection of her design... The Scent of Love.
"If you're looking for something more than a raunchy romp under hot lights than this film may be your answer.
"I give this film my highest recommendation; especially for you jaded guys out there that think it's all the same. I also think this would be a good one to watch with a girl if you get a chance. It may be a little off the wall but the sensuality of the film could appeal to [women]. Check it out." —Gypsy, Adult DVD Empire

When the power struggle between Natasha, his naive young sex slave, and Carolyn, his deviant, power-hungry wife, threaten Helms' bid for the oval office, one of them will have to go. Sex. Murder. Multi-award winning writer/director Brad Armstrong brings you this year's most anticipated adult drama. An unforgettable 3-hour epic ripped from today's headlines, Coming Home is extraordinary movie making. This is Wicked’s strongest feature in years, and one of those rarities in the adult industry: a movie actually about something. Written, directed by and starring Brad Armstrong in the lead role, Coming Home tells the story of Brian Parsons, an Army reservist who gets called back to duty and sees his home life shattered as a result. Whether he intended to or not, Armstrong’s movie makes a rather poignant statement about the unforeseen effects the Iraq War is having and can have on young soldiers’ lives, and while Coming Home by no means takes any political sides, it does address one issue that mainstream media has yet touched upon: what happens to the guys that do make it back home?
"Don't be surprised if Brad Armstrong winds up winning at AVN for both best actor and best director on this one. In fact, you can tell 'em you heard it here first!" —Spooky (Adult DVD Empire)
2007 AVN Awards:
Sacred Sin is a romance from Michael Ninn, shot entirely in hi-def. Yes, you read that right, a porn romance introducing Heather Vuur and featuring the music of rock legend Eddie Van Halen. As if that's not enough to tweak your attention, award winning director Michael Ninn's plot line combines ungodly mortal power and biblical struggle. Almost lost in all this is the hype surrounding the fact that rocker Eddie Van Halen composed some of the original music for Sacred Sin. It sounds great, but it's really just an afterthought due to the fact that the story and the acting in Sacred Sin is so strong. If Nick Manning doesn't get an AVN nod for his performance here, it would be a travesty.
This is by far the most outstanding release I've seen from the
adult industry this year. It actually surpasses Ninn's Catherine in both visuals and storytelling, and that's saying a lot. In fact,
it would be a "Sin" not to add this to your collection!

The Visitors is a fantastic mix of Sci-Fi/Horror and Porn. Can a porn movie be scary and sexy at the same time? It can if you're director Michael Raven and you're at the helm of The Visitors. There's a lot to admire about The Visitors, but let's start with the movie itself. This is a simple story, shot on what appears to be a modest budget,, but yet it's one of the best adult releases of 2006.
Why, you ask? Story...plain and simple. But hey, you want to know about the sex, right? Raven's story doesn't skimp on the erotic action, with five boy/girl scenes and one alien abduction involving star Kimberly Kane and an alien probe (the final sexual action of the title, where we get to see Kimberly Kane's pussy probed aboard the alien's spaceship). If there's a downside to The Visitors, it's that the movie leaves you wanting more.
The Visitors wraps up with an entertaining coda (look for a cameo
by the director) that suggests a sequel may be on the way. Let's
hope so, because The Visitors is quite simply the best Wicked
movie to come along since the last time they tackled the sci-fi genre

Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre
2006 AVN WINNER
Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre is a sex comedy spoofing some of
the most loved horror flicks of our era. The movie has a good time
making fun of the horror genre, while giving fans 10 full-length sex
scenes in its 2 hour running time. From the mind of Wicked Pictures' award winning director Jonathan
Morgan (Space Nuts) comes this horror movie spoof that's packed with
beautiful busty babes, unexplainable circumstances and outrageous
situations that all lead to plenty of hot sex of course. Kirsten and
Megan (Stormy and jessica drake) are two college students headed to a
concert with a group of friends, when along the way the gang
"accidentally" runs over a homeless drifter in the road, or
was it a moose or a deer? As the gang soon finds out, nope, it wasn't
a deer, it definitely was a homeless dude and soon they begin dying one
by one. Camp Cuddly Pines Power Tool Massacre, a comedy of horrific

Every once in a while, an adult movie comes along that takes porn to

an adult movie arrives that dwarfs everything that has come before it,

I can pretty much sum up my excitement for Space Nuts in four
words: Bring on the sequel! —Adult DVD Empire
2006 AVN Winner:
Catherine is one of the big adult releases for the fall of 2005, and one can only hope that its surreal, but spectacular, vision doesn't get lost in the hype of other, less original, adult features starring more recognizable talent. Catherine stars sexy redhead Audrey Hollander in the title role...a woman living in the present who must fight off the demons going on inside her head (represented by visions that seem to take place in the past) before she is driven to do something terrible. Is she suffering from multiple personality disorder? Is she remembering a past life? Is this reviewer totally off-base on his interpretation of director Michael Ninn's work? Who's to say? Part of Catherine's appeal is that much is left up to the mind of the viewer - which will likely lead to different viewers drawing different conclusions...which may be exactly what Ninn's intentions are with his film.
A lot of adult directors like to say their work is
"artistic," but Catherine is truly a movie that can stake a
claim to that term. It's not only one of the best DVDs of 2005, but it's
one of the best movies Michael Ninn has done in years.
