Kristina Wright

I am delighted to be joining the staff of the Erotica Readers and Writers Association!  I am a full-time writer, perpetual college student and a community college adjunct.  I live in Virginia with my husband, a menagerie of pets and more books than some public libraries. When I’m not writing at Starbucks or sitting in a classroom, my hobbies include reading (obviously), photography, blogging, cooking, film, theatre, rescuing stray animals, learning new things and traveling as often as my budget allows.  Oh, and I have a bit of an obsession with my new Wii.  I think that makes me a full-fledged geek girl, what do you think?

I started writing in the first grade when I realized someone got to write all those stories I loved so much.  My writing credits include book reviews, articles, essays and interviews in a wide range of publications, both print and electronic.  Fiction is my passion, however, and my erotica and erotica romance fiction has been published in over sixty print anthologies from Avon Red, Seal Press, Black Lace, Cleis Press, Bella Books, Pretty Things Press and others.  My first novel was published by Silhouette Intimate Moments and was a Golden Heart Winner in Romantic Suspense from Romance Writers of America.  In addition to short fiction, I am currently working on two novels, a screenplay and some creative nonfiction.

In addition to writing, I’m a bit of an education junkie.  I completed my Master of Arts in Humanities in 2007 and now I’m working on a certificate in Women’s Studies. There is a part of me that longs for a Ph.D., but I’m not sure if I have the discipline necessary to do the time.  I do consider myself an academic of sorts (I like the term “independent scholar”) and my interests cover much of the humanities, specifically literature, popular culture and women’s studies.  I am also a community college adjunct, teaching English and Humanities and I can safely say being a teacher is infinitely harder than being a student.
