What is it about Firemen that gets our mojo burning? Is it their hard bodies, taut muscles, and unending strength and courage? Their willingness to risk their lives for us and our loved ones? Or the super sexy way they handle their hoses? How about all of the above?

Liquid Silver Books is publishing a 12-book duet series throughout 2009. Each month we will publish a Fireman duet consisting of two novellas and two authors. In 2010, the series covers will be complied into our very own Liquid Silver Books Firemen Calendar.

This series is open to any genre, but must have a firefighter as a central character, male or female. We will be accepting submissions in both our Liquid and Molten heat levels, and each duet will be compiled of novellas within the same heat level.

Submissions are open to all authors currently published with Liquid Silver books and those wishing to be published with Liquid Silver Books. All works must be new material. Previously published works or works currently part of a series will not be considered. All submissions must be exclusive to Liquid Silver Books; if we decline your submission; you are free to submit elsewhere. A total of 24 novellas will be accepted for this series.

Submission requirements:

Full manuscript in Ariel, 12pt saved as RTF.
Length: 20k 30K
Genre: Any, must feature firefighters.

Heat Levels:

    * Liquid Silver - We are looking for the build up of passion, the explosion of a sexual relationship between a man and woman and not just a story with one sex scene after another. We are looking for the traditional "happy ever after" and the commitment of the man and woman involved. We want to see strong stories, stories which could stand on their own if the sex was omitted. However, by the addition of explicit sex throughout the book, the entire work then takes on a titillating aura from beginning to end. The sex must carry the story along and not just be included as though it was an afterthought in order to submit it.

    * Molten Silver - Liquid Silver Books is known for publishing classy, hot, distinctive erotic romances. In our Molten Line, our stories rise to a hotter, steamier level. We're looking for the naughty, the boundary-pushing, the "holy crap, that was awesome." Stories that include BDSM, multiple partners, same-sex loving, anal play, or anything else that tickles your fancy. Just make sure to give us a happily ever after (or, happy for now) ending.

First-stage submissions for this series are open until August 25th. The final decision for stage one submissions will be announced September 1st.

Payment is 40% royalties on retail sales originating from the Liquid Silver web site; 40% royalties on retail sales minus distribution costs for sales from various distribution channels. Contract for the Fireman Series ebooks call for electronic rights for two years.
