My partner and I have indulged in "mild" bondage over many years. Not hundreds of meters of coarse hemp rope, but a few short lengths of large diameter soft cotton curtain rope - tied by the wrists or ankles, just enough to convince the mind that the tied partner is helpless and therefore not in control.

The rope can also be untwined to be made into a soft flogger that lands with a soft thump, but causes no pain even on the most tender parts.
