It's strangely addictive - cybersex. I don't do it now, but I used to, and it's rather safe. the people that I chatted to just wanted to get off quickly, and I had no problem with helping them do so. The cyber world and cyber-ships are extremely dangerous and can be emotionally damaging. I was involved with a "whatever-ship" as I call it for five years with a man who lived on the opposite coast (I am on the West Coast). I got sucked into the world of fantasy with this man. My story isn't very different from the rest he lied to me about his live-in girlfriend and I went back and forth being in contact with him. The danger of these types of situations are when one person wants to make it "real" (me) and the other person does not (him). The other sad part is that a lot of people don't see you as a living, thinking, feeling person--we are not just words on a screen or a voice over the phone. We are all people who deserve respect.

I've only had disheartening, sad experiences involving the Net. It's not the real world and it's easy to fall into an emotional trap. I fell hard for this person--stupid fool that I was but I learned a hard lesson and hopefully, will never make the same mistake again.

Cyber Sex on one occasion was very real and lasted for over a year. We both took a hiatus for a few months due to her family (She is married) and my school demands. I am so thankful I never gave him my real personal details, so I suggest to others that they never do this for their own safety.
