Love, Marriage & Other Bad Ideas

Cast: Richie Calhoun, Allison Tyler, Xander Corvus, Natasha Nice
Director: Eddie Powell
Studio: New Sensation Romance

Dr Paul Highland (Richie Calhoun), a marriage counselor who would just as soon advice people to tie a noose around their neck than to tie the knot, is at his wit’s end. Embittered by a failed relationship, he can no longer feign interest in the petty problems his patients present to him every day. He lashes out, pointing out the reasons why their vows meant nothing and why they should divorce immediately. Ironically, the doc’s outbursts only serve to strengthen each couple’s resolve as they form a united front to defend against the asshole trying to break them apart. On a couple of occasions those moments lead to blacken eyes and kicks in the nuts for Highland, but he could care less up until he meets April (Allison Tyler), a bride-to-be with a bad case of cold feet.

Director Eddie Powell and writer Jacky St. James have once again produced an adult romantic comedy that is so smart and so funny, it merits a spot on one’s DVD rack, alongside “When Harry Met Sally,” not under the mattress with the rest of the smut. In addition to St. James’ laugh-out-loud script, the movie showcases strong comedic performances from Calhoun, Tyler, Xander Corvus and gonzo queen turned feature star Natasha Nice, who also happens to own the hottest—most jiggly—sex scene in the flick.

Fun and sexy feature for romantic comedy fans. —Nelson Ayala, XBIZ Editors Choice
