This month I thought we, or at least I would have some fun and try one of the many wireless remote vibes on the market so we picked up the Oyster Remote Control Vibrator over at LoveHoney. The description promises a wireless remote with a 50 foot range, a four speed virtually silent bullet, and a discreet remote.
The remote looks similar to an old school key fob for your car, with 4 silver buttons. There are no telltale markings on it so unless people really look at it; they will have no idea that it’s a sex toy which is good news when you’re out and about! There is a moderate sized receiver unit which also contains the two AAA batteries for the vibrator. The bullet itself is at the end of a wire which has plenty of length to get around to your back if you desire, and plugs in directly to the receiver. On the back of the receiver is a clip for clipping to your panties or other clothing. The directions recommend wearing tight panties, or slipping the bullet into the gusset of the panties to help hold it in place. This toy is NOT water proof, so take it off before hitting the hot tub!
Mr. Toy:
I’ve looked at wireless toys in the past but never picked one up so I was excited to try this one. I’ll tell you something, making a game out of trying to get Mrs. Toy to hold her breath, clip her words, or close her eyes when someone was talking to her just never really gets old! I would press the different buttons and just watch her try not to react, knowing all the while she was hot and wet! Best part was nobody could hear a thing, I even teased her by leaving the innocuous looking remote on the table when I wasn’t pressing it.
The party was the best part though, having her, or at least her remote, passed around made her the party game of the night, and made me so hot watching her as she moaned, sighed, jumped, and wiggled. That night the sex was hot and heavy for sure! Over all, I’d say the toy has been used for four to five hours of frequent buzzing, and the batteries haven’t died yet.
The remote works well, we tested it and were able to reach very close to the advertised 50 feet out in the open, though be aware that walls and other obstructions will impede the signal. About the only real flaw I would say is the clip, which only allows you to insert the lip of whatever you’re clipping it to about half way up the body of the receiver, making it somewhat easy for the receiver to fall off. If they’d made the clip longer the receiver would have been much more secure.
Mrs. Toy:
So, of course for this toy, Mr. Toy said we have to go out to dinner to try it out. As we drove to the restaurant he handed me the toy. I was easily able to put it in place and clip it on without any trouble while in the passenger seat, do not try it in the driver seat. Once we got in the restaurant Mr. Toy went to work pressing the buttons. Anytime I had to talk to someone I started vibrating. I tried not look at Mr. Toy because I would have laughed seeing the grin on his face. I knew his grin was there because it was still there after the person I was talking to left. I was amazed at how quiet this toy is, I couldn’t even hear it, only feel it. I am not one to draw attention to myself so if it could have been heard by anyone I wouldn’t have worn it. Every once in a while I needed to move around to allow it to hit just the right spot but overall walking and sitting, it stayed in place.
I did wear it another time but this was at the house. We were having an adult party and toward the end of the evening there were a handful of us left so we started to play a game. Mr. Toy came up with the idea, after everyone’s finished a turn they got the controller for the toy until the end of the next person’s turn. It was passed around the whole group many times and I don’t think it ever stopped vibrating for more than a minute the whole time. They would try different buttons and watch my reaction. A few of them got pretty good at figuring out what buttons worked best. I was a little embarrassed at first to have it being passed around but it ended up being a lot of fun to me and the rest seemed to enjoy themselves too, though maybe not as much as I did!
Conclusions:
Our Pro’s: Very quiet, good range, remote works reliably, good battery life, tons of fun!
Our Con’s: receiver clip is too short and the cord from the bullet can come unplugged sometimes, though we think this was mostly caused by the poor clip design.
