Shadows

“Where do shadows go to die?”

The question puzzled him, though much about her did. His recent orgasm wasn’t helping his thought processes. “Into the light.”

“But shadows exist because of the light.” She held a hand over his face, blocking the dim glow of the numerous spheres floating in the air above their shared bed. “The shadow only disappears if the object does.” She pulled her hand back.

He turned to face her. “The dark, then. You’re still there but the light isn’t, so no shadows.”

She gave him a wistful smile. “You got it.”

He skimmed a fingertip over her cheek. “Hey. Why the sudden philosophy?”

“Dunno. Maybe cuz I’ve-”

He tapped her lips with his finger. “So have I.”

“I know, but-”

This time, he blocked her words with a firm kiss. Pulling her body atop his, he looked up into her dark eyes. A wave of his hand extinguished the lights, covering them both in a shroud of night. His recovering cock twitched against her heat. “What can I do?” he whispered.

She hugged him fiercely, thankful that the darkness hid her tears. Easing down his shaft, she breathed, “Help chase away the shadows inside. Please.”
