Mystic Wand Vibrator

Like many women, I really enjoy my Hitachi Magic Wand vibrator but keep hoping to find something comparable that isn’t quite as large (and heavy) and that doesn’t require a plug. When I saw the Mystic Wand, I just had to request it for review.

When the Mystic Wand arrived, I was happy to see I’d gotten the pink one. It pleased my girlie nature, a lot. The Mystic Wand was packaged in a plastic clamshell that wasn’t too hard to open without personal injury and it included a white bag for storage, though it did not include the 4 AA batteries it requires. The vibrator itself was clean, well made and finished but did have a slight odor of plastic. I gave it a good bath in soapy water to make sure I got anything residual on it off but then had to put it aside before I could play with it. Dinner – why did someone need dinner right then?

When I had a moment to myself, I pulled out the Mystic Wand and found some batteries to feed it. The battery compartment has an o-ring seal to help keep water out and it’s considered “waterproof” but I still don’t think I’d complete immerse it. Instead I just retired to the bed with my new toy.

The Mystic Wand has six modes to play with. There are three steady vibration speeds and three pattern modes. The control buttons were easy to find by feel and I liked the fact there was both an on/off and a mode-change button. A little bit of lube and the Mystic Wand quickly made me come – very quickly, in fact.

This is quite a powerful vibrator but it’s not a very quiet one. As anyone who has a toy collection knows, it’s very hard to get power and quiet in a single package. It’s not as loud as my Hitachi Magic Wand but it’s definitely not unnoticeable. The silicon coating on the head of the vibrator does make it not chatter against my clit ring, though, which was nice.

The Mystic Wand is smaller than the Magic Wand and not quite as powerful but it is also not as heavy not as prone to give me the “numb nub” issue. I enjoyed not having to worry about the onset of carpal tunnel and whether I can find an extension cord easily. The soft-touch coating also means the Mystic Wand is easy to hold onto and manipulate.

mystic wandThe Mystic Wand has a flexible shaft to allow the head to flex and the head itself has both a smooth area and a ribbed area that allow a great deal of variety when you are playing with the toy. The head is a bit bulky which makes it more difficult than a slimmer vibrator to use in some positions or with a partner.

Because of the soft-touch coating, be sure to clean the Mystic Wand very well after each use. You can use a condom to be more certain to keep the vibrator clean.

If you are looking for a more portable vibrator that has a lot of power and a similar feel/shape to the Hitachi Magic Wand, the Mystic Wand may be a great choice for you. If you don’t like vibrators that have a great deal of power, you may find the Mystic Wand to be a bit too much for you.

I really liked the Mystic Wand and it’s earned a place in my keeper toy box.
