Obsession Bullet Vibe

If you’ve followed my reviews for a while, you already know that I’m on the quest for the best (and longest-lived) bullet vibrators. I love bullet vibrators but, apparently, it’s a toxic sort of love – maybe a bit more akin to a romantic tragedy. I love them to death – usually an untimely death in mid-masturbation and fraught with unsuccessful mood-destroying attempts at vibrator CPR.

Sigh.

When I saw this newish bullet vibrator on Babeland’s website, I had to give it a shot, right? Maybe this was the one for me! At under $30, it’s a steal, too.

The Obsession Bullet Vibe came out of the package nicely finished, with no odor of solvent or mold release. The bullet was, however, a tiny bit oily feeling so I gave all the parts a bath with soap and water, just in case. The velvety touch battery pack was gratifyingly easy to open as the base twists off and a rubber O-ring keeps the battery pack waterproof. There is also a collar around the top of the bullet to keep water out of that part as well.

I’m never sure what to expect when I first power on a bullet vibrator. Both the volume and intensity vary widely and I waited until I had the house to myself to fire up the Obsession Bullet Vibe. After all, one can only get away with the “electric toothbrush” excuse so often to the kids.

The Obsession Bullet Vibe has a small rocker sort of switch that controls on/off on one side and cycles through its 7 speed + vibration patterns on the other. The switch is a soft-touch sort of button with a rubber coating, so it remains waterproof but I have to admit that manipulating that small switch was a bit tricky for me and I had to result to the corner of one of my long nails. It may not be quite so problematic for someone with shorter nails, though.

Obsession Bullet VibratorThis vibrator is not super quiet but is certainly nowhere near the loudest bullet vibrator I’ve tried. I’d put it pretty squarely in the middle of the pack on noise. It is, however, surprisingly powerful. I sometimes have problems with bullet vibrators being a tad…wimpy…but the Obsession Bullet Vibe delivers really well on the heavy vibrations for its size and the fact it’s powered by two AA batteries. It also doesn’t seem to go through batteries very quickly nor heat up too much while running for an extended session.

I did discover one really great (and unexpected) feature about this inexpensive bullet vibrator – it has a built-in memory so, unlike some others, you don’t have to cycle all through the vibrations and speeds to get back to your favorite. When you turn it off, it remembers your setting and goes right back to it! I love this feature since I typically only have one or two favorite settings and they always seem to take more than a few button pushes to get to.

The Obsession Bullet Vibrator has a generous 30-inch cord, so there is room to play with it. Like all bullet vibrators, I strongly recommend use of a condom if inserting it and to NOT use the cord as a traction device. It’s a sure way to bullet vibrator death—trust me.

I have to say, for under $30, this is a great bullet vibrator to try out. It now inhabits my headboard and at least so far has not succumbed to my toxic love. I hope it lasts a while, because it’s a great little workhorse of a vibrator.
