We love the We-Vibe line, the We-Vibe 3 that we have has been used many, many times. When given the opportunity to try out the newest one in the line, the We-Vibe 4, we couldn’t resist.

The We-Vibe is a ‘C’ shaped toy designed to, as my wife calls it, “clip on to the girl parts”. It doesn’t really clip on, but what it does do is snugly slip one portion of the unit inside, and another portion outside against her clit. With that done, when her partner slides inside her, he slides against the inner part of the toy pressing it up against her G spot, while she continues to get vibrations on her clit as well. Both inner and outer parts of the toy have their own motor.

What is new with the We-Vibe 4? Plenty. First, it is smaller, I would guess about 30% smaller in fact. The part that goes inside is also less rounded which for some women (Mrs. Toy included) will be welcome as it allows more room for her partner’s member. The new version is smaller on the outside as well, which makes it a bit less intrusive when pressed between the partner’s bodies.

The second notable difference with the new version, is the feel of the medical grade silicone used to make the toy. This covering feels great to the touch, while allowing for easy soap and water cleanup, and making the toy 100% waterproof (note that the remote is NOT waterproof). When using it in the water, you can control the toy without the remote using the single button on the tip. As with any silicone toy, remember to use only water based lubes. It seems the new toy is a bit stiffer in the middle part as well, keeping the fit snugger and making it stay in place better.

The new remote is nice as well, allowing for separate control over intensity and vibration patterns. Both Mrs. Toy and I feel like the remote has a stronger signal than the older version. Even when we were pressed tightly together we did not have any problems controlling the toy.

Mr. Toy:

I think Mrs. Toy’s comments will nicely cover how we feel about this great toy, so I’ll focus my comments on the one thing I find a bit disappointing about it, the charging system. This new version of the toy is charged through a standard USB cable, which is good. What is not so good, is that in the manual, they say to be sure to NOT plug this in to any USB HUB that “is also charging other devices”. Additionally, I was a bit disappointed that a toy of this quality, did not include a wall adapter for the USB cable. This combination means that we cannot leave the toy to charge where we usually do, in our master bathroom because we have no USB devices in there. We also cannot charge it off of my computer as the only available, USB outlets are on a HUB. This isn’t a show stopper by any means, but it is something to be aware of. I suspect that, given Mrs. Toy’s feelings about the new We-Vibe 4, we will be converting one of our bedrooms electrical outlets to a USB outlet to keep this thing charged at all times.

The good news is that the charge lasts a long time, nearly 3 hours of use in our tests, and a full charge takes about 6 hours from empty. I suggest reading the included care instructions to ensure maximum life of your toy.

Mrs. Toy:

Move over sex toys, the We-Vibe 4 is here and needs a place where we can have easy access to it. I have a feeling my other toys are going to be jealous about the amount of use the We-Vibe 4 gets, but I don’t care. This upgraded toy is amazing. The shape and feel of the We-Vibe 4 is different and for me was a much better fit. At first I wasn’t sure if it would stay in place, it is shorter than its predecessor but since it is shorter the clitoral stimulator hits in just the right spot and the new shape of the g-spot stimulator is an improvement as well. The flat back and slightly curved front of the g-spot stimulator puts the pressure where it benefits the most.

The easy to use remote takes you where you want to go be it fast or slow or anywhere in between. Pulse it out for a little while before changing it to a wave or echo pattern and back again if you so desire. We didn’t have a problem changing the speed or mode, even when Mr. Toy was pressed up against me, which is a nice change to other toys with remotes where you have to separate in order for the remote to work correctly. It looks like it will be a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for Mr. Toy and myself.

Conclusions:

Our Pro’s: Great new feel, size, and shape. Remote is improved, waterproof, new patterns, long battery life, better fit, over all just a much improved toy.

Our Con’s: No AC adapter to charge from the wall and not being able to charge from a USB hub that charges other devices is limiting. The manual suggests leaving the toy plugged in and on the base if you use it regularly, but having to have it near a computer may be limiting for some people. The good news is that USB AC adapters are pretty cheap these days, and options do exist for converting wall outlets into USB chargers as well.

Over all, the We-Vibe 4 is an outstanding toy that we plan to use frequently. Once in place it gives great hands-free vibrations, allowing both partners to focus on the sensations and each other. We highly recommend any couple try this thing out!
